A Re-Imagined Sonoma Retreat
A few years ago, we worked with clients who purchased a spacious property in Sonoma County. Along with the 4,000-square-feet home, the property also featured an oversized detached garage, a large pool house, and an additional workshop.
The new owners wanted to create a one-of-a-kind retreat away from the city where they could relax and pursue their hobbies. They also wanted to bring their design sensibility to the property. We guided the clients through an extensive remodeling project that completely reimagined both the interior and exterior of the house and its outbuildings.
For the exterior, we replaced all the siding, upgraded the windows and redid the stonework surrounding the fireplace. Inside, we completely gutted and remodeled the layout. The project included moving the locations of bathrooms and creating larger stairwells.
The house originally had a four-car detached garage. Seemingly perfect for the husband who is a car enthusiast. But he realized that the workshop was a superior space for storing his cars. The wife, who is an artist, needed a dedicated space for her work. The solution was to convert the oversized garage into a spacious, fully equipped artist’s studio with a bathroom.
With the size of the home and the extent of the renovations, this was a lengthy project that made full use of our skills in both interior and exterior remodeling. The home now met the new owners’ needs and reflected their unique sense of style. In the end, the results were stunning, and the home was featured in Sonoma Magazine. We were proud to help our clients bring their vision to life.
